Well, I haven't been too great about keeping the blog and social media websites up to date. It's easy to forget about when I'm busy building rings and fulfilling orders. I'm going to try my best to keep tabs on what's happening around the shop, and post pictures of unique custom projects.
I'm receive more and more custom requests, and I really love the ideas and challenges people are bringing to me. Here are some of my favorites from the past year.
Things have been zooming along here at the studio. Here are a few quick images of custom work from the last month.
Some of these custom pieces were created using CAD and then cast from 3D printed models. I've been using this method for complex stones and ring shapes, the details are crisp and precise. This process adds a nice element to the final handmade ring. My previous method for casting was carving wax models by hand. While this method is nice for an organic look, the precison of CAD designs just can't be beat.
Well everything took just a little longer than expected, but I've decided to take the wall down and make the site live! Explore the site, build your dream ring, and let me know what you think so far. I'm going to keep comments and suggestions on the Facebook page for now.
This new website was brought to you by unhealthy amounts of: coffee, cookies, sad acoustic music.
Next goal, clean my workbench... This is the clean side.
It's true, Olive is currently on my lap while I type this. Who runs this show???
I expect to have the site live by this weekend. I'm just combing through the last of the details and coding to make sure everything works seamlessly. I also have to update my Etsy page with all the same info. I still love Etsy, but the flexiblity of the listings on this webpage should make choosing and purchasing your own design much easier.
The cat picture to blog-post ratio is pretty high so far, I think I should tone that down...
The website is almost ready! I'm ridiculously excited about finally having this website up, it's been a lot of work but I think all the different pages help cover topics and issues that often come up. Everything is a lot more organized behind the scenes now too, thanks to some handy Shopify apps.
I've been doing most of the web re-building from home, which admittedly is nice, but leads to an overload of coffee since I just bought a 12-cup coffee machine.
My intern Hazel hard at work:
I've been fine tuning this new page, it's looking pretty good so far!
